Job SummaryThe Construction Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects. This includes tracking project expenses, processing progress billings, analyzing job costs, and ensuring that all financial reporting aligns with both company standards and industry regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesJob Costing & Analysis: Maintain and review project-specific ledgers; allocate costs for labor, materials, and overhead to ensure accurate tracking against budgets.Progress Billings: Prepare and submit Payment Applications (using AIA G702/G703 forms or similar) and manage the billing process with clients and consultants.Subcontractor Management: Review subcontractor invoices, verify insurance compliance, and manage Lien Waivers and Retention payments.Revenue Recognition: Apply the Percentage of Completion (POC) method to recognize revenue based on project milestones.WIP Reporting: Generate monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports to analyze over-billings and under-billings.Budgeting: Assist Project Managers in creating and revising project budgets and forecasting final costs at completion.Compliance & Audit: Ensure all project financial activities comply with local tax laws and internal controls.
